Brocket Hall once again hosted the exclusive Rainy Day Trust Golf Classic sponsored by Akzo Nobel.
Set in the magnificent grounds of Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire, 100 of the industry’s top and budding golfers took to the challenging course in some very windy conditions and some particularly impressive golf was recorded.
Top performer on the day was Simon Dyer from Akzo Nobel scoring 40 points just beating off second placed Justin Phillips a guest of the Business Design Centre for the Presidents Cup.
Top team was won convincingly by David Hubbard’s Urfic-Inter who scored an impressive 89 points.
Alistair McAuley won the Ernest Benn Trophy for his outstanding effort on the back nine and Paul Boag from Urfic-Inter won the Longest Drive sponsored by Crown Paints, with Jim Platt from Ronseal winning Nearest the Pin competition sponsored by Plasti-kote/Valspar.
The day concluded with a fabulous dinner with live entertainment before the golfers retired to the bar for a few light refreshments!!
Approaching £10,000 was raised from the day which will go to supporting those in our industry who find themselves in a less fortunate situation.
The 2012 Rainy Day Trust Golf Classic date has already been set for Thursday 4th October - again to be staged at Brocket Hall, where you could have the opportunity of not only having a sensational day’s golf but also walk away with one of the many fabulous trophies.
