Brocket Hall once again hosted the exclusive Rainy Day Trust Golf Classic sponsored by Akzo Nobel. Set in the magnificent grounds of Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire, just under 100 of the industry’s top and budding golfers took to the challenging course and some particularly impressive golf was recorded. Top performer on the day was James Smith of Ronseal – who took home the President’s Cup with Andrew Wilkinson runner up – a guest of Poores of Acton. Top team was won by Valspar on a countback from Stax and team members included Mike Watson, Jon Coe, Robert Ware and Ernie Stoker. Catherine Hayburn – a guest of Urfic – won the top Lady award, with Simon Dyer of Akzo Nobel winning a trophy again this year for the back nine holes. Jon Coe from Valspar won the Longest Drive with Ernie Stoker, a guest from Valspar, winning the Nearest the Pin competition. Approaching £10,000 was raised from the day which will go to supporting those in our industry who find themselves in a less fortunate situation.
