Tandem Parachute Jump

events-banner-parachuteSunday 16 September 2012 saw eight volunteers take to the skies for the inaugural Rainy Day Trust tandem parachute jump at the British Army Parachute Association training center at Netheravon, Wiltshire – right in the middle of the MOD’s training facilities on Salisbury Plain. The jump, from a height of 14 000ft, included a 50-second, 120mph freefall descent before parachutes were deployed.

Our brave volunteers were Nigel Stanway of Henkel, Steve Coombes of Toolbank, Hannah Griffiths of Decco, Jason Burns of Honeywell, Matt Pullen of Akzo Nobel, Colin and Nina Petty of Faversham House and Michael Dark of MDA.

Over £10,000 was raised for the Rainy Day Trust and General Secretary, Diane Stevens, said:

The response to the parachute jump has been incredible, with those within the home improvement industry yet again digging deep to support us with this event. A huge thank you goes to all our volunteers and everyone who supported them.
