The importance of making a Will
Making a will is the only way to ensure that your affairs are handled properly after death. Its simple to do and relatively inexpensive.

It needn’t take long and will shield your dependants and loved ones from complex legal procedures and any additional burden after your death.

Your Will can help those who are really in need
Although The Rainy Day Trust has an illustrious history, stretching back for more than a century an a half, our focus is very much on the future and assisting those that need our help. By including The Rainy Day Trust in your will, you will be able to make significant differences in the future.

How to help
We strongly recommend that you consult a legal advisor when making, or changing your will. However, the following wording may be useful:

For a Residuary Legacy -
(This is what remains after specific bequests to family and friends)

‘I give to The Rainy Day Trust, Federation House, 10 Vyse Street, Birmingham, B18 6LT, registered charity number 209170, all (or % share) of the residue of my estate for the general purposes of the Trust and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Trust shall be good discharge for the same’

For a Specific Legacy -
(This is a fixed sum of money, a property, or other specific gift)

‘I give to The Rainy Day Trust, Federation House, 10 Vyse Street, Birmingham, B18 6LT, registered charity number 209170,*........................... For the general purposes of the Trust and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer shall be good discharge for the same’.

* Insert here “the sum of £…(repeat in words)” or describe in detail the items bequeathed. In the case of a property, please include the full postal address.
