Personal Legacy

Remember the Rainy Day Trust in your Will

You can remember the charity, without incurring any immediate outlay to yourself, by leaving a legacy to the trust in your Will.

The importance of making a Will

Making a Will is the only way to ensure that your affairs are handled properly after death. It is simple to do, relatively inexpensive, doesn’t take long and will shield your dependants and loved ones from complex legal procedures after your death.

Your Will can help those who are really in need

Although the Rainy Day Trust has an illustrious history, stretching back for more than a century and a half, our focus is very much on the future and assisting those that need our help. By remembering the Rainy Day Trust in your Will, you can help to build a better future for the people of your industry and make significant differences in their future.

How to help

We strongly recommend that you consult a legal advisor when making, or changing your will. However, the following wording may be useful:

For a Residuary Legacy -

(This is what remains after specific bequests to family and friends)
‘I give to The Rainy Day Trust, Federation House, 10 Vyse Street, Birmingham, B18 6LT, registered charity number 209170, all (or % share) of the residue of my estate for the general purposes of the Trust and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Trust shall be good discharge for the same’

For a Specific Legacy -

(This is a fixed sum of money, a property, or other specific gift)
‘I give to The Rainy Day Trust, Federation House, 10 Vyse Street, Birmingham, B18 6LT, registered charity number 209170,*……………………… For the general purposes of the Trust and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer shall be good discharge for the same’.
*Insert here “the sum of £…(repeat in words)” or describe in detail the items bequeathed.
