The Rainy Day Trust helps past and present employees of the home improvement and enhancement supply industry. This includes people who have worked in retail, manufacturing or in support functions. Sectors include builders’ merchants, homewares, garden, DIY and hardware retail and supporting suppliers or manufacturers.

The initial qualification required for an annual award or a one-off grant is that the applicant or their spouse or partner must have worked for a qualifying company, i.e. a company involved in the home improvement and enhancement industry, including manufacturer, distribution or retail for five years.

All applications are considered by a case committee comprising Rainy Day Trust board members.
