Supporting The Rainy Day Trust through eBay

Does your business receive unwanted samples which you need to get rid of, or do you have any old, unwanted stock?

The Rainy Day Trust now has an eBay page, which we are using to raise money for the trust. This is a really easy way to support us if you have any unwanted items which you can spare. Anything sells on eBay whether it be work related or otherwise. When selling an item, you can choose what percentage of your profits you would like to donate to the trust, and it is really easy to get started.

You can either send us the items if they are small and we will sell them ourselves, or you can sell them yourself following the instructions below. It is really easy!

A Step by Step Guide to Supporting The Rainy Day Trust on eBay

Before you can buy or sell on eBay, you will need to set up an account by going to www.ebay.co.uk and clicking on ‘Register’. You can then set up an account which will only take a few minutes.

Selling

If you have any unwanted items to sell on eBay, follow the instructions below:

• Go to The Rainy Day Trust’s eBay page and click on the ‘Sell’ tab, and then on the ‘Sell Now tab’
• Next, click on ‘Advanced Sell’ and enter a very brief description of your item. Then click ‘start selling’
• This will direct you to a page of possible categories to list your item in. Click on the one which is most suitable and click ‘continue’
• You will then be directed to a page where you can write a description of your item, and upload photos of your product.
• You will need to choose a starting price which will allow people to make bids on the item. Alternatively you can out a ‘Buy it now’ price which will allow buyers to skip the auction and make a purchase.
• You can choose how long to auction your item for (1 week- 10 days is recommended)
• You will then have to choose whether or not to sell for charity. If the Rainy Day trust is there, click on it, if not, search for it.
• You can then select what percentage of your profits you would like to donate to the trust.
• Finally, you will have to select your postage costs and then it will be easy to list your item by just following the instructions.

Buying

Feel free to browse the items for sale on our eBay page by following these instructions:

• Go to The Rainy Day Trust’s eBay page
• Scroll down and click on the tab which says ‘Buy’
• Browse the items which are currently being sold for The Rainy Day Trust. If you are interested in any of the items, click on them and place a bid. You can then keep checking over the course of the auction to see if you are the highest bidder.

It is really easy to buy or sell on eBay; you just need to follow the instructions. Any unwanted items will be gratefully received, and you never know, you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!
