Each winter, thousands of people are faced with the decision of whether to eat or heat their homes. Despite the fall in energy prices, those on small pensions or low incomes are still struggling on a daily basis. As a small charity we don’t have the political muscle to lobby government or the energy industry for change, but we can deliver help to the individuals and families that are struggling. And we can do it in a way that counts.

  • A boiler and heating system service by a qualified engineer to improve the efficiency of the heating system, make sure that it is ready for winter and reduce heating costs.
  • Provision of our ‘Let’s Save Energy’ pack including free LED lightbulbs, eco shower heads and radiator reflectors, all designed to cut bills by up to £300 a year.
  • Grants to help with utility bill arrears.
  • Grants to buy heating oil in the summer when prices are lower ready for the colder winter weather, or payments made direct to utility companies.

Are you working in, or have you worked in, the home improvement or home enhancement sector?  That includes DIY, builders’ merchants, hardware, housewares and other allied trades.  Do you have less than £10,000 in savings and are on a low income? Please note that ‘home improvement‘ is classified as work that is related to the domestic residential housing market, not commercial such as offices or hotels, or road building or bridges. Call us on 0800 915 4627 and ask for help with your energy bills. If you have any queries, you can e-mail us on info@rainydaytrust.org.uk
