Grants And Financial Support

For many people surviving on a low income or pension, making ends meet can be a real struggle.

When things go wrong, they can go wrong very quickly. When something like a washing machine breaks down, the cost of a new one can be out of reach. Repairing a leaking roof or a broken down car is simply unaffordable for many. That’s why we offer grants to help people through difficult times. We assess each applicant individually, and tailor our help to that person’s needs. The service is completely confidential. Our helpline is open 5 days a week from 9am to 5pm and is reached by calling our usual number of 0800 9154627.

We can help with a wide range of needs including:

• One-off grants for things like cookers, beds or a new TV
• House repairs
• Care home top-up fees
• Training and education grants to help you find a new job
• Travel expenses

Are you working in, or have you worked in, the home improvement or home enhancement sector?  That includes DIY, builders’ merchants, hardware, housewares and other allied trades.  Do you have less than £10,000 in savings and are on a low income?
