Colleagues from across the home improvement, DIY, housewares and building products sector came together at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire on Thursday 24th September for the annual Rainy Day Trust Golf Day and Gala Dinner. Thousands of pounds were raised on the day, and the final total will be confirmed shortly.
MDA, a family business, has run the event in support of Rainy Day Trust for more than 20 years, which makes it one of the charity’s longest-standing fundraising partnerships. The same dedicated team has been behind it from the start, Michael, Charlie, Grace and Barbara. Once again, this year, they brought together partners, suppliers and retailers for a day of golf followed by a gala dinner with a raffle and auction.
To say I feel privileged is an understatement. For more than 20 years, MDA have championed Rainy Day Trust through this event. This sector never ceases to amaze me… it’s a small, tight-knit community, yet the generosity is enormous. Everyone who gave their time, sponsored a hole, or dug deep in the raffle and auction is directly helping someone in our industry who’s struggling right now.
A huge thank you to Michael and the whole MDA team, and to every sponsor and guest who joined us. That’s what makes this sector so special.
